Dynamic Location of a User

Are there any third party applications that we can integrate with Teams, to know about the location of the user?

Or are there native solution to understand dynamic location of a user.

Like if users are working from home or from Office, can it be displayed under their profile?

From mobile we can share the live location in teams mobile app, but without any intervention can the location be displayed?

Teams platform allows partners to integrate device capabilities, such as camera, QR or barcode scanner, photo gallery, microphone, and location with their web apps. You can use the location APIs, such as getLocation and showLocation to integrate the capabilities within your app. Please go through this Integrate location capabilities document for more information.

Please note that - Currently, Microsoft Teams supports for location capabilities is available for mobile clients only.

Hi Meghana,

I used the above document and tried to access user location using task module.
As mentioned it is not working on desktop (so do we have fix for that)
and on mobile devices when opened on task module it is giving error 1000
{'data': {'errorCode': 1000, 'message': 'Location permissions were denied by the user'}
however when same code is invoked in a tab for the same app then its working.

can you help with what could be the potential issue

We checked this sample at our end which uses task module. We were able to check in location properly. Can you please refer this sample once-https://github.com/OfficeDev/Microsoft-Teams-Samples/tree/main/samples/app-checkin-location/csharp
