Telerik RadMap Tile Caching Legality

Hi,

I'm working on an application that can display a map where internet connection may or may not be present at startup. The Telerik RadMap control has a MapTile caching feature that would enable the needed map tiles to be displayed when starting up without connection.

Having seen other posts regarding the terms of use limitations regarding storing map tiles from the Bing Map provider, I was wondering if using the maptile caching feature of the Telerik control would violate the terms of use.

Thanks

    Hi JJKanu,

Yes, you are correct, in general, caching anything other than Geocodes is prohibited. Windows Applications have access to offline maps as long as they are downloaded in advance. You can see this by using the Windows Maps application and choosing the maps to download. This is only available to UWP Windows Applications running on Windows OS.

For "web" control, our SDK handles the web caching following standard web caching experience.

    Sincerely,
