Trying to connect Purview to Salesforce ...

I have created on Salesforce a connected app and retrieve the consumer key and secret.

Have put all these in Purview, try to scan but always receiving the error : Error: (3805) Connector Exception: Can not retrivie access token. Make sure you specify proper Instance/My Domain URL

Someone who allready succeed in connecting these 2 systems ? Even with the help page of Microsoft, I didn't succeed ... I must be missing something ...

Usually this kind of error will come when the entered credentials are incorrect.

Thanks for your answer but I think the credentials are OK as I use them to connect successfully with data factory ... They are stored in key vault.

Were you able to resolve this issue? We are also trying to connect Purview to Salesforce.

I'm confused by the directions for Registering and Scanning -- when does the Connected App in Salesforce get created? Is it auto-generated by the Register step or do you need to manually create it? If manually created, what settings should it have?

Hello.

Yes, it works fine ... now.

First, you have to define a connected app in Salesforce.
The tricky part for me was the authentification from Purview to Sales force : you have to concatenate the password and the token to allow access to Salesforce.

Having same issue. I've concatenated the token and user password but still seem to receive the same message.

Is it as simple as

passwordtoken or should it be password:token ?

Is there any way to see a more detailed error message ?

Hi, hI am failing on the correct use of Consumer Key, Consumer Secret and Secret Token. I don't know where to store this in Purview or where to enter this. Is there anyone who can help me or or does anyone have instructions with pictures? I tried a lot of comibnations and yes, I have created an Azure Key Valut and combined the password with the Secure Token. My main problem is where to store Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.

@PERSOONS Alain I'm curious about your use case. How are you using Purview with Salesforce? We would like to be able to sync encrypted email over to Salesforce via the Salesforce plug-in in Outlook. Is this what you are trying to achieve - or something different?

Has anyone been able to get this to work? I have everything configured, but the scan runs for 45 seconds to 1 min, then says Completed.

no, we have tried desperately so far and have not found a solution. Unfortunately, Microsoft Austria can't help us here either, so this is a problem that remains unsolved.

@Kempinger-Kreil Michael My SF scans are running, show as Completed (no errors), and I can see the authentication to the Connected App working on the SF side, but it runs for less than a minute and collects no data. I created a Connected App in SF. Under "App Manager" > View "App Manager" > Edit I found the Consume Key and Secret I needed and enabled OAuth. I'm running it as a System Administrator. I had to add my System Administrator USER security token to the end of the password in my Azure credential.

yes, there is a Connected App with corresponding Consumer Key and Consumer Secret in my case. My User is also a System Administrator. I add my System Administrator USER security token to the end of the password in my Azure credential. The problem from above arises and there is no solution to the problem. Do you have another idea?

Do you use a Sandbox of Salesforce (test landscape) or your produtice System?
