Hi.

Strange problem here...

To help our RDS users distinguish between local and RemoteApp, I have choosen a different Active Window Title Bar Color for our RDS servers.

With the help of a GPO, I've set two DWORD values in the following key for all users: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM
AccentColor = MyColorCode
ColorPrevalence = 1

And it works great, the color is applied to the Window Titlebar.

But then if a user is disconnected and re-connects to the same session, the Active Window Title Bar Color - is reset to default.

If the user is completely logged out (not just disconnected) and logs back in, it's working fine again until the next disconnect.

    Hi,

    May I know if you deploy the registry key value by following steps? If not, could you please clarify what action you have done to deploy the registry?

    On DC, open Group Policy Management > Edit "Default Domain Policy" > Computer Configuration > Preferences >Windows Settings >Registry > New Registry Items > HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM

    Thanks,
    Eleven

    Hi @Eleven Yu (Shanghai Wicresoft Co,.Ltd.)

    Close, but not exactly. I've put the ones which are different in bold:

    On DC, open Group Policy Management > Edit Custom Policy "RDS Servers" > User Configuration > Preferences >Windows Settings >Registry > New Registry Items > HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM

    Hi,

    I have done some lab tests but didn't encounter your issue.

    And since the registry keys are applied to user configuration, whenther you open local or remote apps, the Active Window Title Bar Color should be the same as they are opend by the same user. So how can this help to distinguish between local and RemoteApp?

    Have you made any other configurations? Roaming profile? UPD?

    Thanks,
    Eleven

    We had the same issue with our own application. What fixed it was "DisableLockWorkstation"

    Ref:
    https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-server-for-it-pro/bug-no-reconnect-to-disconnected-session-with/m-p/218413

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]

    "DisableLockWorkstation"=dword:00000001
