Office 2019 ClickToRun, Visio and Project - Install separately

Dears

I'm correctly deploying Office 2019 (clicktorun) with both Visio and Project (both 2019)
I'm trying to install ONLY Visio or ONLY Project on pc where there already is Office 2019 but I'm encountering some issues.
Is it possible or I've to reinstall everytime Office2019 too?

I want to help you, but could you please give us more information?

Which version of Office 2019, Visio and Project do your have? Such as volume licensed version of Office Professional 2019.

If there is any screenshot or error message of your issue, please share with us for better analysis.

Besides, if you install Office apps via ODT and .xml file, please also share with us, I will have a check.

I'm able to install all of them together but I'd like to know if it is possible to ADD only Visio or Project to a computer where there already is installed Office 2019

See attached is my test for ADDING Project to an existent Ofice 2019 insallation; the result is that my previous Office 2019 get modified (nothing remains) and Project is installed240103-test-project2019-eng-ita.xml

Yes, we can do it. Please try following .xml file.

I configure the Updates repo:

How can I download version updates there?

You can put ODT tool and this configuration file (.xml file) in that update path. (Please note, if you run this configuration file, you can only download the package for Project 2019）.
Then run commands to download the installation package as the update source.

cd <update path>

setup.exe /download <.xml file>

Dear

This means that for every Office ClicktoRun Package that i'm downloading (like Project for example) I'll have in the Updates folder (which in my case is a subfolder of the initial download) another FULL version updated; users when will click the Update button on their clients will be redirected to this "updates" folder?
If it is correct, isn't it a solution very hard to keep updated? Can you suggest me a way to keep Office clients updated?

Yes, you are right. If you add UpdatePath in .xml file, then Office clients will search updates from the UpdatePath.

Can your machines connect to Internet?
If so, the you can remove <Updates Enabled="TRUE" UpdatePath="\\server.....\updates" />, Office will be enabled to update and search updates from Microsoft server (CDN) by default.
This means Office will install update automatically and reduce your control costs.

I was trying to deploy ONLY Project with your xml but there are some missing steps.
1- In your XML Where is the path of the Project installation folder (I need to put it on a shared folder on a server)?
2- Should i setup /download before installing Project?

With Office I usually download the Office copy in a folder and then on the client launch the /configure.
Can you please indicate me the specific steps?

Sure, but first let me answer your 2 questions.

In my .xml file, I did not specific the "SourcePath", if your machines can connect to Internet, then you can install Office from Microsoft CDN (Microsoft cloud server).
But if some of your machines can not to connect to Internet, then you can download the installation package to the folder with ODT, then let these machines install Project from local source. (For details, please check the comments below.)

It depends on your environment conditions.
Such as whether your machines can connected to the Internet and whether there is pressure on network bandwidth.

If Internet connection is disabled, or the network bandwidth is stressed, you can download the installation package of the Project first on one machine that can connect to Internet, copy the folder, that includes the .xml file, ODT and Office installation files to other devices that need to install the Project, or to a shared folder that the clients can access.

Install Project directly from Microsoft CDN:

Download the ODT to one folder, such as "Test" folder (C:\Test）.

Put the .xml file into Test folder, this .xml file called "Project.xml" as an example.

Run Prompt Command as an administrator, enter following commands:
cd <Test folder path>, (Such as: cd C:\Test)
setup.exe /configure <.xml file>, (Such as: setup.exe /configure Project.xml)

Install Project directly from local source:

Find one machine that can connect to Internet. Or you can directly download the installation files on server that have shared folder.

Follow the steps above of step 1, step 2.

Run Prompt Command as an administrator, enter following commands:
cd <Test folder path>, (Such as: cd C:\Test)
setup.exe /download <.xml file>, (Such as: setup.exe /download Project.xml)
Although there is no scope for “SourcePath” in .xml file, an Office folder will be generated in the Test folder, which is the installation file.

If you do not download the installation package to a shared folder, and you need to put the Test folder to the same location on other machines.
Copy the Test folder that includes (setup.exe, Project.xml, Office folder) to other machines that needs to install Project.

One those machines run Prompt Command as an administrator, enter following commands:
cd <Test folder path>, (Such as: cd C:\Test)
setup.exe /configure <.xml file>

Dear @Emily Hua-MSFT ,

Same result, if Office 2019 is already installed, when launching Project installation (local repo or Microsoft), it uninstalls Office2019 and remains only Projects.
I attach you the xml files, please let me know, thank you very much250358-project2019-ita-eng.xml 250286-office2019proplus-ita.xml

Please go to %temp% folder, check whethere there is any log file, which will include the machine name and the installation date.
