How can only the vowels be painted in Arabic texts?

Hello everyone,

For study and research purposes, I am interested in marking in a separate color the punctuation/vowel/vocalization

marks that are above and below the letters, Arabic texts.

For example: 

I want to control the colors of any consonant and vowel separately.

I remember in the past there was a way to do that and mark only the punctuation mark and paint it while the letter itself would stay in the default color. I remember it was possible to do the opposite as well (paint the letter and leave the punctuation mark in the original color).

Anyway, I tried to do it in both Word and PowerPoint and failed to make it happen - coloring only one character (the vowel or the letter) - did not affect the color. Marking both - dyed them together and it does not help me.

I would be happy for help and insights on the matter.

It seems that this can't be done with Word. It could work with LibreOffice Writer, but with problems.‎

Copy your text to Writer. Open Find and Replace (CTRL+H). Click Other Options and check Regular expressions and Diacritic-sensitive. In Find, type a diacritic (for example, the fat.ha). Type the same diacritic in Replace. Then click Format and choose the Font color that you want (under Font Effects tab). Click Ok, then click Replace All in Find and Replace. Repeat with other diacritics.‎

I found that the most acceptable font for the whole text is Traditional Arabic. Here are some caveats:‎

‪- Diacritics could appear too high or too low

‪- The لا would appear as لـا

‪- Problems with shaddah+other diacritic

PS: Not sure if this works with other languages that have diacritics.‎
