Dear @Benjamin Kokholm Broen,
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.
To better assist you, could you please clarify a few details:
- Which type of Microsoft account are you using?
- Personal (e.g., Outlook.com, Hotmail)
- Education (e.g., school/university account)
- Business (e.g., work account from your organization)
- Are all 12 iPads running the same version of iOS and the Teams app?
- Is this behavior affect to another device like iPhone or PC, e.g....?
- Is this behavior consistent across different Teams channels and document types (e.g., Word, PDF, Excel)?
- Are these iPads managed under any MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution like Intune?
These details will help us determine whether this is expected behavior or a device/configuration-specific issue.
After reviewing internal documentation and community feedback, this behavior seems like a hidden bug because it effects on 12 iPads (please correct me if I understand anything wrong).
We recognize this can impact productivity, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. In the meantime, here are a few workarounds you may find helpful:
- Use “Preview” Mode: Instead of opening the document directly, try long pressing the file and selecting “Preview.” This often preserves your location in the Files tab after closing the document.
- Open in Browser or Office App: You can choose “Open in Safari” or “Open in Word/Excel” (if installed). This method avoids the automatic redirection to “Posts.”
- Access via SharePoint: Opening the folder in SharePoint allows more consistent navigation and avoids the tab reset behavior.
We encourage you to raise this concern via submit feedback directly through the Teams app (Setting > Feedback > Report a problem) a feature), so that our product team can consider this behavior.
We appreciate your kind patience and understanding that sometimes the initial response may not immediately resolve the issue or there may be some misunderstandings about your scenario, but we would love to hear updates from you and find out further suggestions.
Looking forwards to your reply and please let us know if you need further assistance or have additional questions.
Warm Regards.
