Onedrive Login impossible

Hello there,

I cannot sign in to onedrive on my windows machines anymore. I never logged out, Microsoft did that for some reason.

I have OneDrive running on both my laptops for months. Yesterday, I suddenly could not access my files anymore, and not was not signed in in OneDrive anymore. I DID NOT DO THIS !! When trying to sign back in (with the Microsoft account that is linked to my laptops and my windows and office), a window pops up stating that since I am trying to access sensitive data, I have to enter my account email-adress to receive a code.

BUT I NEVER RECEIVE THIS CODE.

I am stuck in a loop of nonsense. OneDrive signed out - WITHOUT any action from me. Logging in requires a code from my eMail adress, but I never receive any such eMail from Microsoft.

Via browser, on the microsoft account page, I can login with my credentials just fine, same with the webmail interface for outlook, where I would want to receive that eMail containing the unlock code.

Microsoft online help is nonsense, none of that helps, and my particular problem is not mentioned. On the support hotline, when I explain my problem, the stupid robot hangs up on me after telling me I must find support online.

And best of all, when I try to access the Microsoft support via the get.help app, I am once again asked to login, entering that unlock code from the eMail. But since I do not get these eMails from Microsoft, I can't. So I'm stuck with this login problem, and thus even locked out from all contact to support. Great loop, Microsoft!

In summary, on the web interface, I can login just fine, so credentials etc. are ok. Onedrive refuses to log me in, and I never get the eMail I am supposed to receive.

This is really problematic, as not all the files are fully available on my hard drive (offline) and I cannot afford to lose any of that data. I need access to my files, and I need it soon. Even my PhD thesis is locked up in there. Originally, I thought this cloud storage would help me keep my files safe. And now MS just locks me out of my own account with this nonsense...

Any help would be welcome.

But please, don't dare to insult me by copy-pasting generic nonsense such as "check firewall", "check internet issues" or such. This is nonsense, nothing changed, I changed NOTHING on both my machines before this started. This issue comes from Microsoft. I have NO changes on my systems, my network or anything.

    Hallo

    Hello Tani7375,

thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, it seems like you did not fully read my post.

    1. I AM NOT AN IDIOT !!!!!! It is insulting to even mention this nonsense.

By the way: It is an outlook (thus MS) email account. So if MS puts MS emails in spam or junk, it would be quite dumb anyways, right?

    1. Once again: I AM NOT AN IDIOT !!!! Also, I explained clearly that I DID NOT CHANGE A THING.
    2. Problem one: In Windows settings -> Apps -> OneDrive there is no such option as 'reset'. 'Modify' is greyed out, the only option available is 'uninstall'.

Problem two: This can in no way help, since, as I stated, this problem is not limited to one machine. It appeared at the same time on 2 computers. Not receiving the code eMail from Microsoft can not be fixed by daddling with the software on one of 2 computers. Basic logic..

    1. Addendum to point 3: The App cannot be uninstalled. Attempting to uninstall gives me an error message from explorer.exe stating that "this file does not have an app associated with it for this action".

// update: Uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and as expected, same problem persists.

I tried the link you shared

"Kontoprüfung fehlgeschlagenEs tut uns leid, aber wir haben Probleme bei der Überprüfung Ihres Kontos.

Bitte versuchen Sie es später noch einmal oder fahren Sie mit anderen Selbsthilfemaßnahmen fort." So to sum it up, I get an error message WITHOUT ANY information. Can a multi-billion-dollar-company not get the system I am PAYING for work, and just send me that stupid verification eMail to THEIR outlook mail adress? I never asked for this "security" bullsh**, and now it's even locking me out of my own account and i get ZERO support. Thanks.

Interesting to mention: I was also logged out in Word & Excel and can not log in there either. Via browser on the MS accounts page, I can login just fine and see that my subscription is still valid until September. So why the heck does MS kick my account out of all functions for no reason and without support? I am a paying customer!
