Hi there,
I'm Rainiel, and I’m here to help.
Step-by-Step Recovery Plan for Microsoft 365 Account Access
- Use the Microsoft Account Recovery Form
If you're the only admin and can't get past two-factor authentication, begin with the Microsoft recovery forms:
Use your admin email address even if you're currently locked out. Fill in all requested details such as domain names, old passwords, billing information, and any other identifying information to help Microsoft verify ownership.
- Contact Microsoft Support for Locked-Out Admins
Microsoft provides support specifically for administrators who are locked out of their Microsoft 365 account.
- Go to https://support.microsoft.com/help/4051048
- Scroll to the section titled "Admin locked out of Microsoft 365"
- Click the "Contact Support" button
When prompted, select "I can't sign in" to proceed without logging in.
- Call Microsoft Business Support
If the support forms don't work, call Microsoft support directly. Business customers can usually reach Microsoft by phone. Use this link to find the correct phone number for your region:
https://support.microsoft.com/help/4051701
Choose the business support option, then explain that you're the only administrator and are locked out due to an unconfigured two-factor authentication method.
Have the following ready:
Your domain name associated with Microsoft 365
Any invoice or billing information
A description of the problem
Your admin email address
- Check for Another Global Administrator (if applicable)
If you previously created a second global admin account, you can log in with that account and reset the authentication settings for the main account.
After Regaining Access
Once you are back in, go to this page to manage your security info: https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
Set up multiple authentication methods, such as:
Microsoft Authenticator app
SMS
Alternate email
I hope this will help and if you have any question please don't hesitate to reply to this thread.
Warm regards,
Rainiel
