OneNote download was in Polish

I tried something simple today: I tried to download OneNote from the Microsoft Appstore. Soon I started getting messages in Polish! The entire process took an inordinate amount of time and apparently failed, although I could not understand the dialog boxes. I have a German Windows that I'm using in Germany. How could this have happened? There was nothing for Windows to uninstall but my RevoUninstaller still found the app and hopefully removed everything.

This is very disturbing. Could somebody please tell me what the heck is going on here?

Nutzt du ein VPN für den Zugang zum Internet? Evtl. schlägt deine Anfrage im Store mit einer IP-Adresse des VPN-Providers auf, die im Store dafür sorgt, dass die Sprache auf Polnisch umgestellt wird.

Wenn ein VPN genutzt wird, deaktiviere es und teste, ob du im Store jetzt in deutscher Sprache bedient wirst.

Thanks for the tip. Yes, I'm using Adguard VPN. I'm hesitant to give it another try though. I had over 2GB of data and Office folders left over from the failed attempts that I had to remove by hand. I do not have Microsoft 365 or an older version of Office.

It's worth a try. Disable the VPN to download OneNote. It should now be displayed and installed in the system language you use on your computer.
