Hi Joachim,
The Compositor Type: 0EXCELP1... is typically logged when Excel crashes during graphics initialization. This is more of a GPU / graphics driver / hardware acceleration problem and not licensing.
Let's try these new steps:
A. Force a disable hardware acceleration. Since Excel won’t open normally, we’ll disable it via Registry.
- Press Windows + R Type: regedit Press Enter.
- Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Graphics If Graphics does not exist: Right-click Common New > Key Name it: Graphics
- Inside Graphics: Right-click > New > DWORD (32-bit) Name it: DisableHardwareAcceleration Set value to: 1 Click OK.
- Restart PC.
- Now open Excel again.
B. Update or roll back graphics driver.
- If that didn’t fix it, Press Windows + X → Device Manager
- Expand Display adapters
- Right-click your graphics card
- Choose: Update driver → Search automatically OR If recently updated → Properties → Driver → Roll Back Driver
- Restart and test again.
C. Start Excel in Safe Mode.
- Press Windows + R
- Type: excel /safe
- If Excel opens in safe mode, definitely graphics/add-in related.
Give me an update on what will happen.
Regards,
Jhun
