Easily set up an Azure demo environment for mobile apps

Trying out and demonstrating the Dynamics AX 2012 R3 companions apps just became a lot easier using Lifecycle Services for Dynamics AX to deploy AX 2012 R3 VMs on Azure.

1.  As a first step, LCS makes it very easy to deploy an Azure-based VM with AX 2012 R3 already installed.  Details are here https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn741581.aspx

 2.  Then simply follow the config steps to connect the AX phone and tablet apps to your  AX VM in Azure: https://mbs.microsoft.com/files/customer/AX/Downloads/Servicepacks/HowtoConnectMobileAppsNAXinAzurePartner.pdf

Now you'll have a trial / demo environment (accessible from anywhere) that you can tweak and use to explore the apps.   You can turn the VM on or off as needed.

Give it a try and we look forward to hearing your feedback!

Hello Haythamthe steps 5 to 11 on page, are to be followed if you are going to request an SSL certificate from a Certificate authority. From the machine you make the request, a certificate request will be made which will be completed when you import the .cer file you receive from the CA.Now you will have an X.509 cert with a private key, and step 11 is about exporting this to a .pfx file.If you import the .cer file received from the CA on any other machine from where you didn't make the request from then, you may find it will not be an exportable cert with a private key.I ran through this step-by-step in conjunction with following the whitepaper "Configure Microsoft Dynamics AX environment for Companion Apps" - dated September 2014 - www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx, and I was able to setup my demo VM in Azure successfully, and was able to verify it working with the Expenses and Timesheets Windows apps and iOS Dynamics AX app
