Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM), the newest member of the Windows Server System, is designed specifically for disk-based backup. DPM focuses on disk-based data protection and recovery. DPM installs on Windows Server 2003 SP1 and protects servers running Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003, Windows Storage Server 2003 and Windows Storage Server R2 to deliver best-in-class data protection services. Windows Defender, formerly Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta), will appear as a new Windows product category in WSUS. A new update classification will be available for Windows Defender called “Definition Updates.” Currently, Windows Defender is being released as part of a Vista beta release.
