Can I use an installed version of Windows on another device I'm building

Hi all,

I'm about to start the build on a new PC for my daughter and was wondering if I can use the windows installation disc I have (which is already installed on my PC) to install Windows on my daughters machine and then update the licence to a different one that we'll purchase?

I don't want to have to buy Windows 11 on an installation disc as they're more expensive than just buying the licence.

    If you're concerned about installation disc, then you can use the ISO files instead which are available free from Microsoft at:

    https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

    You can create Windows 11 installation media directly using Media Creation Tool from Microsoft.

    Alternatively, you can download ISO file and create a bootable USB to clean install on any device, any time without any cost. Note, that you've to only buy the license key to activate a clean install.
