I need to change some documents from my company into a format I can read. The person who sent the files stated that I should copy and paste into a text file, then open the text file using Word and  choose MS-DOS as the encoding. Can you help me do that ?

    Hi Jerry

Those are very strange instructions just to read a file sent to you . . .

Right click one of those files being sent to you, choose properties

On the resulting dialog what is reported as the type of file?

Paste that text into Wordpad or Word, then choose File - Save As, choose type of file and set that to Plain Text

At the bottom of the resulting dialog, set the Text Encoding drop-down to MS-Dos . . .
