Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

To narrow this down, the first thing I’d suggest is a simple test:

    • Ask someone to send you a test email, ideally from another Outlook/Hotmail account
    • If possible, also try from a non-Microsoft email (like Gmail or Yahoo)
    • Check whether the message arrives, goes to Spam/Junk, or if the sender gets any bounce-back or error message

If none of the test emails arrive and there’s no bounce-back, that usually points to a server-side issue rather than something on your device.

A few other things worth checking, just in case:

    • Sign in to Outlook web https://outlook.live.com/mail and check Junk, Deleted, and Other folders
    • Go to Settings > Mail > Sync email and confirm your inbox is enabled and syncing normally
    • Under Settings > Mail > Rules, double-check there are no hidden or disabled rules
    • If this is a Microsoft account, visit https://account.microsoft.com > Security > Review activity to make sure the account isn’t still restricted after the hack.

Let me know what you find and we can continue from there.

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

If you are unable to receive emails after changing your password, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Your Spam/Junk Folder: Sometimes legitimate emails may end up in the spam or junk folder. Ensure to check there for any missing emails.
    2. Review Email Rules: Since you mentioned checking the rules, ensure there are no rules that might be moving emails to other folders or deleting them.
    3. Check Account Activity: Log into your account via a web browser and check the activity log to see if there are any unrecognized logins that might indicate further issues with your account.
    4. Storage Quota: Ensure that your mailbox is not full. If you have exceeded your storage quota, you will not receive new emails.
    5. Contact Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for further assistance, as they can provide more specific guidance based on your account's status.
    6. Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): If you haven’t already, enabling MFA can help secure your account and may resolve issues related to account access.

Following these steps should help you identify and resolve the issue with your email not being received after changing your password.
