Description of how Dynamics SL determines the default GL account and subaccount numbers in time entry screens
This article describes the process that Microsoft Dynamics SL uses to determine default GL account numbers and default GL subaccount numbers.

Introduction
These numbers appear in the time entry screens that are contained in the following modules:
- Advanced Payroll
- Payroll
- Time and Expense for Projects
To determine the default GL account number and the default GL subaccount number for a time entry screen, Microsoft Dynamics SL uses a predetermined search order of the account numbers and of the subaccount numbers that are contained in various maintenance screens. The program searches until it locates the first non-blank value.
The following tables are arranged by module. Each module name is followed by the relevant time entry screens. The tables list the search order that Microsoft Dynamics SL uses to determine the default GL account and GL subaccount numbers for the indicated time entry screens.
