Account verification

I am currently travelling and I have been asked to verify my account as suspicious activity has been detected. I have made numerous unsuccessful attempts through the account recovery form. Is there any other way to prove my identity. It is now extremely frustrating as my travel records are unaccessible due to the email account being locked.

Miles.

    Dear Miles Pritchett

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community

Based on your description, I understand that your Microsoft account was locked on the grounds of an abnormal login while you were travelling and you tried to restore your account via the account reply form but failed, please point out if I have misunderstood.

The account lockout can be unlocked by using a mobile phone number, and that mobile phone number does not necessarily have to be the secure mobile phone number on your Microsoft account. After entering any mobile phone number, Microsoft will send a verification code to this mobile phone number, after entering this verification code. Your Microsoft account will then be able to be used.(Account has been locked - Microsoft Support

When you are travelling, the IP you are on changes to the location you are travelling from, making it very easy to incorrectly determine an anomalous login. For this situation, Microsoft recommends that users use a mobile phone authenticator login. You can also try contacting a trusted friend in your original place of residence who can help you set up your authenticator together.(What is the Recent activity page? - Microsoft Support

I wish you all the best
