excel 2021 cannot draw accurate chart

I upgraded to Office 2021 on MAC OS and now my charts are broken. Here is a sample.

The bar plots on the primary access and the lines graph on the secondary access. The first line is correct. However, the second line (red) and third line(yellow) are wrong. I created a number of these charts with different values and the first line on the secondary access is correct and any additional lines are always wrong

This is so fundamental to be having this kind of problem. What could be causing this?

How do you have the series assigned to the axes.

With the assignment as shown below

and after adjusting the scale of the secondary axis to match that of your chart, the result here is

The "apparent" curve in the Series4 (yellow) line is an optical illusion

I appreciate the inputs above. The inputs let me to review the chart in more detail.

The chart I created used the second 2-D line option below. When I instead used the first 2-D option, it charted correctly.

I don't understand how the use of the second option caused the chart to not align to the secondary axis, but at least this is a work-around for me.

I tried playing around with this second option and cannot get it to draw correctly on the secondary axis. I always assumed this was a cumulative function, but that is not it.

So I have moved on using the first option...and still don't understand how using the second option has this effect.

    Hi VT_96:

Based on your description, we understand that your Excel 2021 cannot draw accurate Chart .

Based on my test, Office version 16.54. I cannot reproduce this issue. However, I type the -1/2 to instead of -0.5. If it is convenient, can you share how you entered negative numbers

Please check your Word version and make sure your copy of Office will always be up to date with the latest version. You can reference this article:Update Office for Mac automatically - Office Support (microsoft.com).

If the problem persists, please try running Office by starting up your Mac in safe modeto see the result. This can help us check whether issues you are experiencing are caused by software that loads as your Mac starts up.

If the problem persists, please provide the following information to help us understand the problem more specifically:

    • Screenshot of the version information of the Excel you are using.
    • If you try to use other types of charts, is it still displayed incorrectly?

    Hope this will help you.
