Differences Between Various Autosave Document Locations

When I go to File > Info > Manage Document > Recover Unsaved Documents, the program opens the directory C:\Users\prg13\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\UnsavedFiles.

Does anyone know how the files stored in the above directory are different from the autosaved files stored in C:\Users\prg13\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word ? Does the program automatically save documents not only in C:\Users\prg13\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word but also in C:\Users\prg13\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\UnsavedFiles ?

This is my understanding, which may not be correct.

The files that are saved in C:\Users\prg13\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word is the last AutoRecovered version of a file if you close it without saving.

The files that are in C:\Users\prg13\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\UnsavedFiles is the document as it was when you closed it without saving it and may contain more that the AutoRecover version that could have been saved up to the number of minutes selected in the "Save AutoRecover information every # minutes" facility under File>Options>Save.

No automatic saves occur for documents on the hard drive.

For locally saved documents, what you have is "Save AutoRecover information every X minutes" which provides basic security if Word crashes.

Just to clarify, none of these deal with AutoSaved files, which only works for files on OneDrive or SharePoint.

When the option Save to Computer by default is selected in the settings, are documents autosaved on the hard disk instead of on OneDrive when the Autosave is enabled?
