OneDrive video storage changes

I teach Yoga classes on zoom and have been storing recordings on OneDrive for 3 years +.

As from last week they are now stored as photos with no changes implemented by me. This affects the viewing for my students; they can't enlarge the video to full screen. Any ideas on how I can get things back to how they were?!

We have contacted support but they are very slow and have suggested basic troubleshooting which we've already tried.

    Hi Taiwo,

Many thanks for responding. The issue affects everyone, on all browsers......I send these links out several times a week to 90+ students and it has worked seamlessly until recently.

Previously the link led to viewing the recording on one drive.live.com which was great...they could enlarge it to full screen etc, but now it opens on the page photos.onedrive.com which is a much smaller viewing window with no means of enlarging it. The video itself is fine, just the viewing.

My partner is an IT consultant and it's got him baffled! We have contacted support who have pretty much said that I have to live with it like this with no explanation of why it has suddenly changed.

It's really frustrating because if I can't resolve it I will need to find another way of storing & sharing class recordings when this has been great so far.

    Any thoughts most welcome;)

    Hi,

I'm Taiwo and I'd be happy to help you with your question. In this Forum, We are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

I can suggest a few troubleshooting steps that might help resolve the problem:

    1. Check that the recordings are saved in a video format (e.g., MP4, MOV) rather than being mistakenly saved as image files. You can do this by checking the file extensions of the files on OneDrive. If they are image files, you may need to convert them back to video format.
    2. If you are viewing the recordings through a web browser, try accessing OneDrive using a different browser. Sometimes, certain browsers or their extensions can interfere with the playback or display of video content. Testing with an alternative browser can help identify if the issue is browser-specific.
    3. Clearing the cache and cookies in your web browser can help resolve various display and playback issues. Try clearing the cache and cookies related to OneDrive and then refresh the page to see if it resolves the problem.
    4. Try accessing the recordings on a different device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or another computer. This can help determine if the issue is specific to the device you are currently using or if it persists across different platforms.
    5. Contact Microsoft support : support.microsoft.com/contactus/

I hope this helps ;-), let me know if this is contrary to what you need, I would still be helpful to answer more of your questions.

    Best Regards, Thank You.
