In very simplified terms, the Citrix window you are seeing, is the video feed of the computer that sits in the main contractor's office.

There is no connection between that computer and yours, you are merely seeing the video feed of that main contractor's machine. When you operate your mouse and keyboard in the Citrix window, you are remote controlling the machine in your main contractor's office.

As such, treat them as two physically separate machines. They do not share the same software, memory, hard-disk etc, and you generally cannot cut/paste stuff from one to the other.

So the software will be separate and you need to contact the main con to add whatever you need to the Citrix environment.

    Thanks for the reply,

yes my issue is kind of like that. Even the license seems to be working on Citrix. I have activated Office in my computer, but when I work in Citrix environment Office says "unlicensed product" even If I do have licensed Office installed. I dont know should license be merged or if that would be a problem since there are two companies? Main computer is provided my main company and Citrix is provided by company where I am subcontracting to. If I am correct I guess I need to contact to the the company where I am subcontracting and ask them to get new office license to citrix environment, so that i have two licenses even when I am just using one physical machine.

I think what you are saying is you can't move stuff between your normal laptop environment, to the Citrix window and vice versa...let me know I am correct.

    Citrix is a remote desktop.

In simplified terms it sort of means the citrix screen is just the "keyboard/mouse/monitor" to a computing service at the main-contractor company. It doesn't technically exist on your computer.

You have to treat it as a completely separate computer. If you need to share stuff between your laptop and the Citrix screen you probably have to email it. While the Citrix screen may display on your office computer, it is technically not running on your computer. Its running at the main-con office and you are only seeing a visual display of the screen on your PC.

For example, if you need to send files between the two...

Current PC to send doc to Citrix - Email using PC Outlook. Receive using Citrix Outlook

Citrix send to office PC - Email using Citrix Outlook and receive using Office PC Outlook
