I have a family account and trying to add my daughter's account to the family. She last logged in under an xbox account years ago so she has no idea of passwords and when we request a password reset it will only validate under her cell phone from the original account which that number has changed. When we go through all of Microsoft tools it says we are not providing enough info to validate identity and have gotten into a death loop we cannot get out of. We cannot find any phone number to actually contact support for assistance.

    Hi Jeff C!

I am Shakiru, an independent advisor and a user like you, and I am glad to be helping you out today.

Please note that this forum is user-to-user support and we do not have permission to access your account and personal information.

I understand you are having an issue recovering your daughter's account and you tried the recovery form.

You may need to try the recovery form again and if it doesn't work, you can contact the Microsoft Support Team.

To improve your chances of success with the Account Recovery form, please check out this link --> https://support.microsoft.com/help/b19c02d1-a782-dee6-93c3-dc8113b20c42

Please check out this video by Microsoft --> Recover your account: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAGyqGE8kJw&t=12s

Note: Please watch the video until the end.

You can contact the Microsoft support team via http://support.office.com/home/chat, Please follow the steps below to avoid being directed to an AI chatbot.

Once you click the support link, Type or describe the issue in the search bar Click on the "Get Help" button Click the "Contact Support" button at the bottom of the page Select your option under "Product and services" and "Categories" Choose your Support option, preferably select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" Enter your email address and Confirm your email again

Once you do that, a service request will be open and you will need to exercise patience for the Microsoft Support Agent to chat with you live

Please let me know how it goes with Microsoft Support and if you need any other assistance, I will be more than happy to help further.

    Thank you

    Best Regards, Shakiru
