Sales Research Agent relies on data sources that are configured for it. When no data sources are provided, it falls back to Microsoft Bing search to answer questions.
If Sales Research Agent is the only agent failing while others work, the most relevant checks are:
- Confirm that at least one valid data source (such as CRM or other knowledge sources) is configured for Sales Research Agent.
- If no data sources are configured, ensure that access to Microsoft Bing is allowed from the network, because the agent uses Bing Search in that case. Network or security controls that block Bing or required Microsoft 365 endpoints can cause generic "Something went wrong" behavior with no detailed error.
- Work with the network/security administrator to verify that required Microsoft 365 and Copilot endpoints are allowed, including those documented for Copilot connectivity.
If the issue persists after confirming data sources and network access to Bing and Microsoft 365 endpoints, escalate through the organization’s support channels with details that other agents work but Sales Research Agent fails immediately after starting.
