Outlook and iCloud are not syncing

I recently purchased an HP laptop and am running Office 356 via Windows 11. I have set up Outlook with my Gmail account and have installed the iCloud app to allow syncing of iCloud Drive, Photos, Contacts, Calendars, etc. I have noticed that my contacts and calendar are not syncing from iCloud. I have tried the various steps including ensuring that iCloud is an active add-in in Outlook and that iCloud is not the default data file. Still no luck. Any suggestions?

I have tried all the options listed - the problem is that the iCloud app in the Microsoft store does not work. You need to download the older app from the apple website and install that after your remove the one installed from the Microsoft store. That solves the problem !

Thank you very much. Worked the way I expected. I did notice that Outlook was posting some sort of unable to synch error. will see what happens when a change is made.

This fixed the issue, thanks. Looked everywhere to find a fix. Ridiculous that Apple would put out software that doesn't work.

According to your description, i notice that you want to use iCloud for Windows to synchronize calendar and contacts with Outlook, right?

If so, please check if you select the option to sync Contacts and Calendars:

If the option is selected, in order to further confirm if the issue is related to Outlook desktop client, please add another account (such as Outlook.com) to check if the contacts and calendars can be synced.

Thank you very much for trying to help me. Unfortunately, I have done everything in your solution and insofar as I can tell, my contacts and calendar are still not syncing with iCloud.

Attached please find an image of the three data files/accounts I have associated with my instance of Outlook. Note that there is no "email account" associated with the "Outlook Data File." The two Gmail accounts that I have installed don't appear to be PST's, rather they are OST's. I am not even sure what is the difference.

Looking forward to your further comments.

I found that when iCloud add-in is not enabled in Outlook, the sync will fail. Please refer to the below image and check if iCloud add-in is enabled.

On the other hand, it's also suggested that you could change the default account to check if there're any differences.

Once again, thank you very much for continuing to try to help me.

I have tried both of the solutions you defined herein previously, but with no luck.

The iCloud add-in is definitely active. Then, as far as default email accounts, I have a Gmail account as the default. I don’t even have an iCloud account since I don’t use iCloud email. As far as the default data file, I have the standard Outlook Data File that was created when I initiated Outlook. I do not have an iCloud data file at all.

Any other suggestions? I would really love to be able to sync my iCloud calendar and contacts with Outlook.

Based on my research on iCloud, i found an Apple support article:

Set up iCloud Mail, Contacts, and Calendar in Outlook on your Windows computer

(The third-party products that this article discusses are manufactured by companies that are independent of Microsoft. Microsoft makes no warranty, implied or otherwise, about the performance or reliability of these products.)

If it doesn't help, considering that the issue is more related to iCloud, it's suggested that you could contact support of iCloud for more professional help.
