Several individuals in my office started seeing their notebooks disappear from the app concurrently with updates that were pushed June 6th 2023. Our notes are stored on a file share in our office. I have ruled out networking and connectivity issues.
A few notes:
- Everyone that has version 16.0.5014.1000 is have the same issue described above. This is the version they were given after running June 6th updates.
- This support page says that the new version should have been brought to 10.0.40219.325 after the June 6th updates, but that is a different version tag than any of us have.
- I ran repair on Office 2016 and was given the version 16.0.4639.1000. This fixed the issue. After repair ran, manually syncing showed all notebooks.
In summary, running "repair" reverted the version of "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016" and seemingly fixed the issue. However, Microsoft is still trying to install the newer faulty version. I recommend freezing those updates temporarily.
**Update: The problem is persisting even after reverting the version. Please advise.
