Definition

Raises the CellValidating event.

protected:
 virtual void OnCellValidating(System::Windows::Forms::DataGridViewCellValidatingEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnCellValidating (System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellValidatingEventArgs e);
abstract member OnCellValidating : System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellValidatingEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnCellValidating : System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellValidatingEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnCellValidating (e As DataGridViewCellValidatingEventArgs)

Parameters

Exceptions

The value of the ColumnIndex property of e is greater than the number of columns in the control minus one.

-or-

The value of the RowIndex property of e is greater than the number of rows in the control minus one.

Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnCellValidating method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnCellValidating(DataGridViewCellValidatingEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class' OnCellValidating(DataGridViewCellValidatingEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
