Hi there,

recently used 3D builder to merge an object onto a helmet im working on, the helmet is smooth but when you merge an object to it the smoothness goes and leaves a texture sort of look which has ruined the model. Can this issue be fixed please?

i would just be grateful if microsoft would provide an archive of older version which were working perfectly, and not forcing an update, rather than not being able to choose if this update is wanted by the end user, please microsoft listen to your users, i really want version one revision back from this latest, this wrecking of the surface detail when subtracting or merging is my biggest issue, all other functions in this update seem to work as normal, but the merge/subtract is surely the most important function for all users no matter what the project your workin on within 3dbuilder, please resolve this very annoying issue, or allow us to downgrade

With all due respect to the esteemed software developers working hard at Microsoft, 3D Builder is basically a toy - a proof of concept. If you're serious about building, don't rely on 3D Builder. Maybe in the future, but not now.

If you want to design in 3D and aren't yet ready to pay for software, look at the free version of OnShape.
