I am the Global Administrator for our Microsoft 365 organization. I am currently locked out of my admin account because the Microsoft Authenticator app is not working and I do not have backup codes. I am unable to sign in or receive verification codes through any of the alternative methods. I need to have MFA reset or temporarily disabled so I can regain access to the account. I can provide any verification you need to confirm my identity as the administrator.”

If you are unable to access your Microsoft 365 admin account due to issues with the Microsoft Authenticator app and do not have backup codes, you will need to seek assistance to reset your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) settings. Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Reach Out to Another Global Administrator: If there are other Global Administrators in your organization, they can help by checking your account settings and resetting your MFA.
    2. Use the Azure Portal: If you can access another admin account, log into the Azure portal and navigate to Microsoft Entra ID. From there, you can manage user accounts and reset MFA for your account.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support: If no other Global Administrators are available, you may need to contact Microsoft Support for assistance in regaining access to your account. Be ready to verify your identity as the administrator.

To prevent similar issues in the future, ensure that your account has correct phone numbers and alternative verification methods set up.
