Audit logs for SharePoint 'Export to Excel/CSV'

Hi All,

Are there by any chance audit logs that identify when users have clicked 'Export to Excel' and 'Export to CSV' within a SharePoint list?

I've checked both Defender and Purview but can't quite find what I'm looking for. The only audit logs I can find are related to downloading files, but don't include exporting .iqy or .csv

We're trying to track exporting before disabling client side integration (alongside other methods) within the permission levels.

Cheers,
Matt

Thank you for posting in this community.

Unfortunately, list download activity is not recorded in SharePoint at this time.

We are always looking for ways to improve SharePoint, and your feedback and suggestions are very valuable.

We suggest that you can make suggestions on this SharePoint Feedback portal to further refine the SharePoint audit log to record activity about list downloads. Your contribution will be highly appreciated.

Please accept my sincerely apologize for any in convenience this may cause. Thank you for your kind understanding.

    Hi Matthew,

I ran tests in my environment using Microsoft Purview and unfortunately there are no audit logs that can identify when users clicked 'Export to Excel' and 'Export to CSV' on a SharePoint list. And no other built-in feature can meet this requirement.

If there are any misunderstandings, please let me know

    Best regards,

    Maycon Novaes
