What happens If I do not migrate my APIM Instances from stv1 to stv2 even after the deadline of 31st August ends.

Other than the support provided by MS for those APIM, would I still be able to use the APIM?

@Shashank Khandelwal Thanks for reaching out. If you do not migrate to the STV2 platform before the retirement deadline of August 31, 2024, we will start doing automatic migration from September.

So, all of those customers that remain on STV1 will automatically migrate them to STV2 based on the time zone of the region in which they have deployed this will be done at midnight based on customer's timezone. We're going to start with the developer tier and go to premium tier all will be done automatically.

please note there will be downtime and customers will not be able to control it after September.

do let me know incase of further queries, I would be happy to assist you.

    Hi Shashank Khandelwal,

    Thanks for your question.

    The official line is:

If your instance is currently hosted on the stv1 platform, you must migrate to the stv2 platform. Failure to migrate by the retirement date might result in loss of the environments running APIs and all configuration data.

    This is documented here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/api-management/breaking-changes/stv1-platform-retirement-august-2024

I will recommend you migrate, before the deadline.

You can mark it 'Accept Answer' and 'Upvote' if this helped you

    Regards,

    Abiola
