Access Database Charts

I am trying to create a bar chart in database.  The numbering on my "x" and "y" axis are in the 10,000's. Is it possible to change the numbers to something smaller? Some of my figures are less than 1,000 and it will not reflect on the chart.

Since you say your a novice, I noticed that no one clearly asked which charts you are using in Access.

    There are two charting functionalities.

    (1) one is the older style,

    (2) one is a newer embedded capability that is being worked on and released in bits and peices, as I understand it.

The way to tell the difference is when you select the chart.

From your Form (or report) - set it to "Design" view.

Once there, go to the "Design" menu.

Looking at the ribon on top, you see a drop down menu that shows the different controls (?) to select (like drop boxes, text boxes, tabb controls, ....)

If you select the dropdown, you should see a choice that says "chart" (the icon is a chart icon.

    This is the Old functionality.

If you look to the right (at least in my setup) of the control dropdown box, you'll see another chart icon that says "Insert Chart" and is a dropdown combo box on it's own.

This is the new functionality that is "in process".

Depending on which you are using, the way to set the numbers on the axis, and other formating details, is different.

That's for you to decide. You have several options. For example you can change the min and max value of the axis. You can choose a logarithmic axis (often appropriate if y-values are orders of magnitude apart). You know how to set those properties, right?
