I am using this CLI command though devops azure cli task to stop all azure data factory trigger but I am receiving error of "(". bracket. Could you please review and let me know where could be the possible syntax error?
$names = az datafactory trigger list --factory-name "xxx" --resource-group "xxx" --query "[?properties.runtimeState=='Started'].name" -o tsv --only-show-errors
foreach($name in $names){
az datafactory trigger stop --factory-name "xxx" --resource-group "xxx" --name $name --only-show-errors

I was able to run your code using azure cloud shell. I don't see any syntax issues.
It could be an issue with double quotes. Can you please try adding double quotes on the $name variable in the az datafactory trigger stop command and try?
Could you please provide me with a detailed error message? And are you using cloud shell from your local machine?

When I used the below PowerShell, I was able to stop the triggers.

$resourceGroupName = "xxx"

After putting name in quotes I am again getting this error line 2: syntax error near unexpected token '(' line 2: '$names= az datafactory trigger list --factory-
Also please note that I am using the whole script in one line (without word wrap) inside azure cli task in release pipeline.
Problem is resolved after selecting script type as "PowerShell" in azure cli task instead of "shell"
