I want to connect to my PC via Remote Desktop APP.

It asks me for credentials.

I tried many times with no luck.

I even changed my password on Microsoft account to be sure I use correct password.

What is the surprise. It never allowed me to get in contact with my other PC.

What password do I need to use?

As I understand, you want to access another PC via the remote desktop app.

First questions to understand it better:

Do you have a line-of-sight connection to the other PC (same network or VPN connection)

Does the other PC have opened port 3389 for RDP access?

Did you set the following setting on the remote PC:

In the windows settings "System" --> "Settings" --> "Remotedesktop"
Is the Remotedesktop setting checked or set to true?

You should see the using port below as well (default 3389)

If you want to give granular permissions (who can access the PC) you can set the specific user in the setting "Remote desktop user" on the same site. Add the user(s) in the next windows. The user needs to exist on the PC.

Maybe this will solve your problem already. If not we can continue here after I get your answers to my questions.

Hello,

Try to disable NLA and have a try.

a. Open gpedit.msc applet.

b. Navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Remote Desktop Services -> Remote Desktop Session Host -> Security.

c. Enable Require use of specific security layer for remote (RDP) connections and select RDP as Security Layer.

d. Disable Require user authentication for remote connections by using Network Level Authentication policy.

Reboot Terminal server.
