Frequently asked questions about using your MACC in marketplace

Find answers to the frequently asked questions about the Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.

What marketplace purchases contribute to my organization's Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) and when will I see the decrement?

All Azure benefit eligible offers purchased through Azure Marketplace and during the MACC coverage period contribute 100% of the pretax purchase amount toward the MACC. Contribution to the commitment occurs at the time when Microsoft issues the invoice. See Find benefit-eligible offers to learn how to find Azure benefit-eligible solutions.

If I purchase an offer before it gains Azure benefit eligibility status, but then it gains Azure benefit eligibility status later, will the purchase apply to my MACC retroactively?

No, marketplace purchases or spend of an offer prior to it gaining Azure benefit eligibility status don't contribute to your commitment. Renewals that occur after the offer gains Azure benefit eligibility status contribute to the commitment. For example, if an Azure benefit eligible solution bills monthly, then billing for the months following the date the offer gains eligibility contributes to the MACC.

Can a marketplace purchase prior to the Azure Consumption Commitment's effective date apply retroactively?

No, marketplace purchases or spend prior to the MACC's effective date don't contribute to the commitment. Renewals of Azure benefit eligible solutions that occur after the MACC effective date contribute to the commitment. For example, if an Azure benefit eligible solution bills monthly, then billing for the months following the effective date contributes to the MACC.

How can I see which marketplace purchases have contributed to my organization's Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC)?

See Track your Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) to learn how to view progress toward your organization's MACC in the Azure portal.

Will a purchase of an Azure benefit eligible solution from the marketplace decrement an Azure Prepayment that I purchased during my Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) term?

Azure prepayment or Azure monetary commitment can't be used against purchases of Azure benefit eligible solutions sold by partners.

Do Azure benefit eligible marketplace purchases made during the last month of my company's MACC contribute to my commitment?

Yes, however only the amount transacted in the last month and invoiced the following month will contribute to the commitment. Future installment payments will not be eligible for MACC. For SaaS purchases, the subscription must be activated by the ISV before the end of the MACC in order for the purchase to contribute to the commitment.
