I'm a user of onenote app. But I came to know that the app is going to be shut down permanently.  Is it true?

IMO the fate of the Microsoft Store and all these UWP apps is open.

There are two versions of Onenote

    1. Onenote 2016 which was supposed to be phased out but was decided to be retained for the time being.
    2. Starting Windows 10, Microsoft has been slowly moving to Microsoft Store based apps called UWP apps - Universal Windows Platform. Onenote app (distinct from Onenote 2016) is something which will be the way forward. For sometime Onenote 2016 will continue. Post retirement of Onenote 2016, only UWP Onenote app will be retained. All new enhancements, developments, fixes have been happening only one Onenote app.

You can easily recognize both. Onenote 2016 has File tab whereas Onenote app will not have File tab.

    Hello Adhvika

I am V. Arya, Independent Advisor, to work with you on this issue. You may have heard this about Onenote 2016. There is no word from Microsoft about retiring this. There is another version which is Onenote app (Store version) which is the way forward as per Microsoft.
