Word 365 - Inconsistent 'Heading 3' Style Spacing in the Same Document

I am writing a document in Word 365 that is divided into two columns. I am using the 'Heading 3' style for a title above each paragraph. 90% of the document is fine but their are a handful of paragraphs (spread throughout the file) where even though they are using the same formatting, the 'Heading 3' spacing is different (see image below):

The 'Heading 3' style is applied to both titles yet one of them has a different line spacing than the other. I have checked both the paragraph before and after the title and they are all set to the 'Normal' style.

Please advise how I ensure the same format is shared across the same 'Heading 3' style.

Thanks

Mike

By default, Ctrl+Q should be associated with the ResetPara command which reverts paragraph formatting to that of the underlying style. On your system, that is apparently not the case.

In the Styles pane (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S), click the Style Inspector icon  and then click Clear Paragraph Formatting. Does that make a difference?

Alternatively, you could try applying Normal style to the text paragraph and then reapply Heading 3.

What happens if you select the incorrect heading and press Ctrl+Q?

    Thanks for the follow-up.

Apparently, some aspect of the paragraph formatting was inconsistent with the underlying style definition.

The workaround you suggested fixed the issue, thank you.

By highlighting the words before the heading (in the previous paragraph), the title itself and the following sentence (in the following paragraph) and setting the style to 'Normal'. Then subsequently changing the title to 'Heading 3' style again it seems to fix the problem, mirroring the correct line spacing again.

Nothing - I can see it checks for proofing errors and then results in "no proofing errors" message.
