Hi. Oh. By "Equation Solver", you meant Solver.

I thought you wanted a direct way to solve it.

The direct way...

m1/m2=45/55

Make it linear by multiplying both sides by m2

m1 = (45/55) m2

bring it to the left

m1- (45/55) m2 = 0

->

m1- (9/11) m2 = 0

I made the "assumption" that 0.667 was 2/3.

I entered the equation in B5

Hi DiiiZiii,

I found an article which can help solve the equation. Here’s the article for your reference:

I tried to solve the equation and based on article. follow the steps: :

Enter the destination range in the box ‘By changing variable cells’ (select C1 and C2 by dragging)

Enter the constraints inside the box ‘Subject to the Constraints’ by clicking the ‘Add’ button as below.

Click Solve>Ok, now you get the solution of these equations in the cells C1 and C2.

Regards,

Neha

    You are great @Dana Di

    Thank you so much and I think I have lost my mind because i was stuck at this point where I was supposed to take the "45/55*m2" term on the left side. Btw. Thank you for your cooperation.

    Thank you but could more briefly tell me what to do next because i am really trying to do these calculations but am unable. It pop ups an error every time I try to solve.

    After making it linear then how could we insert values in the solver?
