Hi RonBarker,
Thank you for your reply.
I have read about such perils, but never thought seller Amazon.com Services would be among them, believing they vet the legitimacy. I thought they were a reputable store, too.
I did activate that product via an email from Amazon, as I have done recently in buying a legitimate Norton 360 product from them.
Discounted prices from Amazon are not uncommon. As you know, they engage in providing what are known as "loss leaders" designed to influence additional purchases.
Here is what I saw when I went to uninstall it a few minutes ago. The 2019 version:

I uninstalled the product, Restarted to let the computer "clean up" a few things, it said, and then, from my Microsoft account, where you saw my screenshot that it was listed there as Microsoft Office Home and Student 2021, I clicked its Install button and, once installed, I launched Word. Again, I was greeted with the same popup asking me to accept a license for the same expiration date of December 24, 2022 and, yes, where you can now see the License Agreement this time shows Office 2021:

You will note the program is now listed under Installed Apps as 2021:

So, that is what I have received from clicking on that Install button directly from https://account.microsoft.com/services .
While your response reassured me that the License Agreement text would be the same, my bigger concern is that statement that indicates if I accept the License I can use this product until December 24, 2022. That's 5 days away when there should be no expiration date whatsoever on this product. If I ignore that statement and click "Accept", I may have no working software in 5 days or, worse, my existing documents could be compromised, inaccessible, or deleted.
I'm additionally concerned that an illegal/contravened product may have been "laundered" through its appearance on an official Microsoft website, my account page specifically.
If I accept this license, I fear I will have sacrificed my position if/when I go to dispute this purchase with either Amazon or through my credit card company.
Can you speak to this date thing, specifically? Also, sir, I don't know if you are a Microsoft employee, or a former one, or unrelated. Can you please inform me?
Thank you.
Jay
