Microsoft Office can’t Find your License for this Application

Every Time I try to open any microsoft office I get the following error

Microsoft 365 and Office | Word | For home | Windows

    I can't access anything when opening word or excel or PowerPoint

    "microsoft office can't find your license for this application a repair attempt was unsuccessful"

    This message appears when I press anything the the software exit directly not allowing any access

    Thank you for coming to the forum.

    Can you share with us what version of Office you are using? Is it Office 2021 or Office 365

    This will make it easier to give suggestions because the image you applied is not showing.

    Also, is this a migration or was it working well before today?

    If it is Office 365, then all you need to do is to open the Word app, click File > Sign out, and Sign back in.

    Also, you can go to account.microsoft.com and click on services and subscription to confirm the status of your Microsoft subscription

    Thank you for more information, you can try the online office repair to see if it clears the issue. But I think the best solution to this will be for you to uninstall the Office application and reinstall it back.

    My message above was to inform you that if you no longer have the activation key and the installation media, then you may have to purchase another software.

    If you do not have the key and media, try the below repair steps

    Office Online Repair Steps

    1. Right Click on Start > Select Installed Apps or Apps and Features
    2. Scroll down until you see Microsoft 365 Apps (or your office version)
    3. Click the three buttons beside the Microsoft 365 Apps (or your office version)
    4. Select Modify
    5. Click Online Repair (this will take a while to be done)
    6. Restart the device

    Thank you for the reply.

    When you click on activate, it will ask you for the activation key, is the key available ?

    If you have the key and the installation media, you can do a reinstallation of the Office application or try to activate it once more.

    If you do not have the activation key, then you will have issues because Microsoft will require that to activate the office for you.
