Visio Desktop App VS Web-Based Visio and the limitations of Web-Based Visio

When making several vectors between processes in Visio, I have found that my charts sometimes have the rare case where a database gets data and sends data, or sometimes two processes communicate between themselves until something is set riget or a data format is approved by two different persons.

Anyway, in order to represent a process with many entry or exit points, one needs to put an anchor on the edge of that square representing a process in Visio.

I have done this on the desktop version of Visio (albeit it was a long time ago I do not remember the steps) but I wonder if it is possible to do this on the Web version. It would be good it I could. Can I?

    Dear respected William Thompson3,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I’m sorry you’re having a problem but based on your description we can work together to resolve it.

For the situation you encountered, we deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

As per your description, I'm Sorry and I'm afraid, the web-based Visio does not support this feature.

Microsoft Visio offers both a desktop app and a web-based version, with each having its distinct features and limitations.

In the desktop version of Visio, you have a full set of features available for creating complex diagrams, including the ability to add multiple connection points (or anchors) to shapes.

The web-based version of Visio, it does not offer all the functionalities that the desktop app provides.

As, Microsoft is continuously updating its online tools, and it's possible that more features from the desktop app are being brought over to the web version over time.

Meanwhile, as Microsoft get their attention is through the feedback mechanisms and Microsoft roll out feature requested from Microsoft 365 customers. I recommended you may also let your valuable Future request to Microsoft Visio produce developer related Team through the feedback mechanisms.

We sincerely recommend you, regarding to your concern, I request you, please send your feedback and write down what you want them to implement via this link: Microsoft Visio feedback portal, Microsoft product developers team monitor this site 24/7 and they will receive your request and put it into consideration. This is the best platform to let related team hear from you and make the products and services better for you and others.

We can expect this feature to be used in the future.

I'm Really Sorry and I apologize for it.

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad

I think you can only use the web version of VISIO, the desktop version is not accessible unless you pay for it
