Microsoft Word Keeps Force Closing -- affects particular document

Hello,

I was working on a document and suddenly word force closed everything I had open. I tried to re-open word and it said it needed to open in safemode, so it did. I tried to continue what I was doing by opening the recovered file, and it just kept force closing again. I reinstalled microsoft office 365 and it made no difference. I also have tried to repair too, but that also hasn't worked.

I have no idea why it keeps doing this or how to fix it. Any advice is appreciated.

UPDATE: It appears to only have an issue with the file I was working on. Which sucks because it is a really important file that I have spent a long time working on and I now can't access it. any advice or am I just going to have to do it all again?

Thank you

If you send me a copy of the document, referencing this thread in the covering email message, I will investigate the issue.

    Dear tyler.jones,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft community. We are delighted to offer our assistance.

If only this specific file is having the issue, please upload this file to OneDrive and see if you can open this file with Word online, if you could open the file in the browser, create a new local file then move the copy the online content and paste them into the newly created file. The original file might be corrupted.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation! Have a great day.

    Sincerely,
