Excel is converting numbers to % format

I am experiencing an issue with Excel since yesterday, where it converts numbers to % format.

If I enter 5 it shows 0.05. I've tried changing from General to other formats including custom formats, but the issue persists.

The only way I can enter the number is as a text and then click on the warning symbol to convert it to a number.

This is really annoying when you have to enter a large amount of data,

Can anyone please give me some advice?

I'm running Excel 365, desktop application on Windows PC.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer me.

Klaudia

Select File > Options.

Select Advanced in the navigation pane.

If the check box "Automatically insert a decimal point" is checked, clear it.

Click OK.
