You can reinstall Windows 11 (23H2 and higher) via Settings.

Launch Settings > System > Recovery. Under "Fix problems using Windows Update", select "Reinstall now." This does a repair installation, keeping your files, apps, and settings.

Option 1 — Reset from Windows settings

    1. Open Settings Press Windows + I, then go to: System → Recovery.
    2. Choose Reset this PC Under Recovery options, click Reset PC.
    3. Pick your preference
      • Keep my files → Reinstalls Windows but keeps personal files (apps and settings will be removed).
      • Remove everything → Full wipe and fresh install.
    4. Select Reinstall method
      • Cloud download → Downloads the latest Windows from Microsoft (~4 GB+).
      • Local reinstall → Uses files on your device (faster, but may not fix deep issues).
    5. Follow prompts until the reinstall starts. The process can take 30–90 minutes.

Option 2 — Reinstall with a bootable USB

    1. On another PC, go to Microsoft’s site and download the Media Creation Tool: https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
    2. Run the tool → select Create installation media (USB).
    3. Insert an 8GB+ USB drive and let the tool prepare it.
    4. Plug USB into your PC → restart → press Boot Menu key (usually F12, F9, or Esc) when your PC starts.
    5. Boot from the USB → follow the install wizard → choose Custom for a full clean install.

Option 3 — Fresh Start via cloud recovery

    1. Turn off your PC completely.
    2. Turn it on and hold the power button as soon as the Windows logo appears to force shutdown — repeat 3 times to enter Windows Recovery Environment.
    3. Go to: Troubleshoot → Reset this PC and follow the same steps as in Option 1.

    Dear. Kent Hensley,

There are two main ways to reinstall Windows 11, depending on your preference and system condition:

Option 1: Reset This PC (Keeps or Removes Files)

This is the simplest method and doesn’t require external tools.

    1. Go to Settings > System > Recovery

Under Recovery options, select Reset PC

    Choose either:

Keep my files – reinstalls Windows while preserving personal files

**Remove everything** – performs a clean reinstall

Windows will handle the rest automatically.

Option 2: Clean Installation Using Installation Media

If you prefer a fresh start or need to reinstall due to system issues:

    1. Visit the Windows 11 Download Page
    2. Under Create Windows 11 Installation Media, click Download Now
    3. Run the Media Creation Tool and follow prompts to create a bootable USB drive
    4. Insert the USB into your PC and restart
    5. Boot from the USB (you may need to change boot order in BIOS)
    6. Follow on-screen instructions to install Windows 11

I hope this helps. Just kindly tick Accept Answer that others in the community facing similar issues can easily find the solution. Your contribution is highly appreciated.

    Best regards,
