I want to know if I mute someone on teams as of October 2025 , will the other person be notified that they got muted by me? Or is it 100% anonymous? If anonymity is the case where is this communicated on microsoft resources , I couldn’t find anything.

if they don't get notified is there any way in any team chat/ log etc for them to find out that it was me that muted them? I am asking this to get most recent information as of 2025.

My second question is - if joining large group meetings late eg) 50+ people , do people get notified that X username joined late ? Or for example if you left and rejoined would everyone get notified you rejoined ?

For the first question, this is the case ever since I believe and if there is a setting or an option like this then there should already be an article or documentation for it.

For the second question, yes that is correct as it needs to be set by the admin first and if there is no setting like that then it will not be triggered.

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. Please see the answers below.

I want to know if I mute someone on teams as of October 2025 , will the other person be notified that they got muted by me? Or is it 100% anonymous? This is not being logged and therefore it cannot be known but kindly take note that organizer, presenter or the admin of the meeting will only have this option.

My second question is - if joining large group meetings late eg) 50+ people , do people get notified that X username joined late ? Or for example if you left and rejoined would everyone get notified you rejoined ? There is an option for this but the admin will be the one to set it up for the audio conference for dial-in participants and you can refer to the link below
