To fix choppy movement, download and install the latest Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center from the official Microsoft website. Make sure Windows is fully updated and try connecting the mouse to a different USB port. If it still moves poorly, test it on another PC to see if the mouse itself has a problem.
