To troubleshoot the issue with your portable monitor not displaying any signal when connected via USB-C and HDMI, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check Cable Connections: Ensure that both the HDMI and USB-C cables are securely connected to both the monitor and your computer. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause no signal issues.
    2. Test Different Ports: If your computer has multiple HDMI or USB-C ports, try connecting the monitor to a different port to see if that resolves the issue.
    3. Check Monitor Input Settings: Make sure that the portable monitor is set to the correct input source. Some monitors have multiple input options and may need to be switched to the HDMI or USB-C input manually.
    4. Verify Compatibility: Ensure that your portable monitor is compatible with your computer's output settings. Check the specifications of both devices to confirm they support the same resolutions and refresh rates.
    5. Update Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. You can check for updates through the Device Manager in Windows.
    6. Use a Different Cable: If possible, try using a different HDMI or USB-C cable to rule out a faulty cable.
    7. Check Display Settings: On your computer, right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings". Make sure that the monitor is detected and configured correctly. You can also try pressing Windows + P to switch between display modes (e.g., Extend, Duplicate).

If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with either the monitor or the computer's ports.

I don't know what kind of portable monitor you have, but it is very possible that you need to connect both HDMI and USB, while the HDMI is for video signal and the USB is power. I used to have one like that from Amazon. Check the manual and make sure that's the case.
