There is no ability to mute The Voice of Copilot when you're using Microsoft edge browser on android. The only option it gave me after providing me with very inaccurate information that was outdated was to turn my volume all the way down. Now I have to miss other notifications and responses that I do need to hear because there's no way to turn the voice off and just receive printed information from my AI. Just off topic, what value is there to a product that gives outdated and inaccurate information that you can't shut up .. It's like listening to that person at the bar who only has information from 10 years ago but they give you this long lengthy spill to try and hide the fact. I'll cover that on another thread.

Edge on Android doesn’t currently have a setting to mute Copilot’s voice.

If you switch to typing instead of using the microphone, Copilot will reply in text only.

    Hi HyJax LTD,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Currently, Microsoft Edge on Android does not offer a dedicated setting to mute Copilot’s voice without affecting overall device audio. Here's a possible alternative solution that you can try:

Uncheck Sound Permission for Edge on Android

    • Open Settings on your Android device.
    • Go to Apps (or Apps & Notifications).
    • Find and select Microsoft Edge.
    • Tap Permissions or App Permissions.
    • Look for Sound or Microphone/Audio (depending on your device).
    • Turn off or uncheck sound permission.

Your input is valuable for shaping future improvements. If you’d like, you can share feedback directly through Edge > Settings > Help and Feedback or the official Microsoft feedback channels, which helps prioritize features like voice toggles and enhanced accuracy.

I look forward to receiving your update. Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.

All this is done is restate the information I provided myself. We should not have to turn our devices volume down, having us miss other notifications and information we don't need muted. There needs to be a way to mute The Voice of Microsoft Copilot on any version whether it be android, pc, or any other place without having to mute all of our devices notifications or information.

Currently, there is no option available to mute the voice of Copilot when using Microsoft Edge on Android. The only workaround mentioned is to lower the overall device volume, which can affect other notifications and sounds. This limitation may impact user experience, especially when accurate and timely information is needed without audio interruptions. Unfortunately, there are no additional settings provided in the context that address this issue directly.
