Ive tried network resets and all the command prompts listed on the official microsoft website, but no option to connect to wifi appears. The tech guys at my school said they fixed it after installing a new driver since i was previously using one from 2020 and it was doing the same thing.

Because the Intel Wireless‑AC 9462 adapter shows a yellow warning symbol, Windows is detecting a problem with the device or its driver, which is why no Wi‑Fi networks appear.

Work through these steps in order:

    1. Check the adapter status and error code
      1. Open Device Manager (select Search on the taskbar, type Device Manager, then select it).
      2. Expand Network adapters and select Intel(R) Wireless‑AC 9462.
      3. Note any Problem number or error code shown on the device (this corresponds to a Device Manager error code). This confirms it is a driver or hardware issue.
    2. Make sure the adapter is enabled
      1. In Device Manager, press and hold (or right‑click) Intel(R) Wireless‑AC 9462.
      2. If Enable device is available, select it. If it already shows Disable device, the adapter is enabled and this step can be skipped.
    3. Update or reinstall the driver Since a previous driver update did not permanently fix the issue, fully reinstalling the driver is recommended.
      1. On another PC with internet access, go to the Acer support site for the exact laptop model and download the latest Windows 11 Wi‑Fi (Intel Wireless‑AC 9462) driver.
      2. Copy the driver installer to a USB flash drive.
      3. On the Acer laptop, open Device ManagerNetwork adapters.
      4. Press and hold (or right‑click) Intel(R) Wireless‑AC 9462Uninstall device.
      5. Check Attempt to remove the driver for this deviceUninstall.
      6. Restart the PC: Start > Power > Restart.
      7. After restart, either Windows will install a driver automatically, or run the driver installer from the USB drive.
This follows the guidance to uninstall the network adapter driver and let Windows reinstall it when connection problems persist after updates.
    4. If the adapter disappears from Device Manager If Intel(R) Wireless‑AC 9462 no longer appears under Network adapters after uninstalling or after a restart:
      1. In Device Manager, select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
      2. If it still does not appear, manually install the downloaded driver from Acer’s site.
      3. If it remains missing, Windows is not detecting the adapter, which can indicate a hardware or BIOS‑level problem that may require service.
    5. Use Network Reset as a last resort If the adapter shows correctly in Device Manager (no yellow symbol) but Wi‑Fi still does not appear:
      1. Open Settings > Network & internet.
      2. On Windows 11, select Advanced network settings > Network reset.
      3. Select Reset now > Yes, then restart the PC.
      4. After restart, reconnect to Wi‑Fi.
Note: Network reset removes and reinstalls all network adapters and resets all networking settings to defaults. VPN clients and virtual switches may need to be reinstalled or reconfigured afterward.

If, after these steps, the Intel adapter still shows a yellow warning or does not appear at all, the Wi‑Fi card or its slot may be faulty and may need hardware repair or replacement.

If there is a yellow exclamation mark beside the Intel WiFi card in Device Manager, that indicates the driver is not installed correctly.

Click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.
