Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
In Outlook, selecting Bcc does not automatically show a list of contacts; it only shows the Bcc field where addresses can be typed or selected. To add contacts when Bcc appears:
- In classic Outlook, open a new email or select Forward on an existing email.
- If the message opens in a new window, select Options > Bcc. If it opens in the Reading Pane, select Bcc from the ribbon. The Bcc line will appear under the To/Cc lines.
- To pick contacts, select To, Cc, or Bcc (depending on your Outlook layout) to open the address book, then search and select contacts to add to the Bcc field.
- If no contacts appear in the address book, verify that contacts actually exist in Outlook (for example, in the People/Contacts view) or re-import them if they were lost.
Remember that Bcc recipients receive the message but their names are hidden from other recipients.
